What is The Friends Scheme?

The Friends Scheme was launched at our summer BBQ in August 2025 and has already attracted a good number of members.  The Friends Scheme isn’t a money raising scheme – it is designed to widen support and to keep supporters up to date with events and developments.  It’s a partnership …  Friends are invited to share ideas, to provide suggestions, to offer feedback and, of course to offer some practical assistance if possible.  

Why should I be a Friend?

Well, quite simply (and obviously, I guess) it wouldn’t be possible to create a Community Inn without a strong tie to its community and strong support from the community.   You can show your support by signing up.

What sort of people are Friends?

Friends, include those who, for example:

• want to see the Haven continue as a community resource

• would like to see it continue to offer  food and drink services

• support the creation of a community space including, for example, a community coffee shop/cafe

• want to see a wider range of community focused activities built up as the Community hub develops.

For some, it might involve offering practical assistance – this can be bite sized or more significant.

Examples?   This may involve helping with the preparatory work for each stage of our project, helping care for the garden; or simply offering advice and suggestions.
